Could you introduce your project and explain how it aligns with SDG 16?

Global rights alliance is an international human rights organisation decimated to protecting and promoting human rights by connecting human rights advocates across boarders.

What specific aspects of peace-building or justice promotion does your project focus on?

We are focused on promoting human rights, peace-building, and advocating for justice. We do this through our collecting human rights advocacy.

How did your project engage with local communities to promote peace and justice?

We host conferences and events centred around human rights in our local community.

Can you share any examples of how your project contributed to resolving conflicts or reducing violence?

We are at the beginning of our journey but we’ve connected human rights advocates and helped them to better understand the human rights challenges plaguing one another’s countries.

Did your project encounter any challenges related to promoting peace and justice, and if so, how were they addressed?

Thankfully we have not encountered any problems as of yet.

What role did partnerships play in the success of your project related to SDG 16?

By promoting collaboration between young human rights defenders, we are helping to provide SDG 16 with better, well-connected, and informed advocates.

How did your project advocate for the rule of law and access to justice within the communities you worked with?

We promote the international bill of human rights in our work, and support youth in our community through providing them with educational events and opportunities.

Were there any innovative approaches or strategies used in your project to foster peace and justice?

By utilising digital media and innovative approaches to collaboration, we are working towards the realisation of these ideals.

How did you measure the impact or effectiveness of your project in promoting strong institutions and peaceful societies?

We intend to utilise surveys and dialogue with our members to better understand our impact.

Reflecting on your project, what are some key insights or lessons you've gained about promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions, and how do you plan to apply them in the future?

Put people first, look for as many opportunities for collaboration as possible, and never stop working. This is what we’ve learnt works and we will keep using these techniques to realise our goals.
